The Atlantic Coast of Morocco is the perfect year round surfing destination. With great weather all year round and a reliable swell, it offers an ideal combination of great waves and a fantastic climate. The small fishing village of Sidi Kaouki offers a great year round break with options for beginners and experienced riders alike. In winter there is a good beach break (2-5metres) whilst in summer the surf is smaller but still surfable (1-3m)

Itinerary / Highlights

The classes are run by Azhar and his team. Azhar has over 7 years experience of teaching surfing and is a qualified instructor. Each learner will discuss their individual objectives from the week, so you will have your own personal plan. The teaching does not focus purely on the practical. Lessons include learning and understanding the ocean - getting to grips with tides, winds and currents and how to choose the right wave to ride. Once the basics have been discussed, you will move on to the practical side. Novices will be taught the basics, how to paddle and mount the board. You will then move on to fundamental surfing actions, controlling the board and how to read the waves.

You will have a lesson each day lasting 2-3 hours, but there will also be free time to practice, chill out on the beach or explore some of the local sites. If you prefer to focus your time on learning, then two lessons a day can be arranged.


Surf classes combine a technical training and teaching with individual support in the water, with photos and videos to debrief after your surf sessions.

Each class is organized according to the tides and weather conditions. Classes last around 1 1/2 hours and generally include the following:

- choose the board and wetsuit most adapted to your size and level,
- observe the surf spot and weather conditions,
- define individual targets for the class,
- do a complete warm-up and stretching exercises,
- get in the water with the instructor, who gives you personal feedback,
- debriefing time at the end of the class.

Accommodation Details

Accommodation is in a peaceful, charming and comfortable guest house on the beach in Sidi Kaouki. A simple and nicely decorated place, it offers double and triple rooms and a small apartment. The guesthouse is for the exclusive use of surfcamp guests and has a convivial family atmosphere with a house keeper. All your meals are included here. You can expect Moroccan and substantial meals like tajines, salads, couscous, Berber specialities, fresh fish or vegetarian meals served at the restaurant.
