At the extreme south west of Portugal exists a place surrounded by wild nature and protected by environmental laws, far from the mass tourism characteristic from the rest of Algarve. In this wonderful region, where the monumental rock cliffs along the stretch of the coast contrast white sandy beaches we found permanently good waves, and mostly uncrowded.

In this place we found a fishermen village, full of ancient sailors legends and historic monuments, where the Portuguese sailors depart for their maritime discoveries, a village surrounded by the ocean and next to the best surf breaks. In this magical place we found the best location to set up our Surfcamp, the Freeride Sagres Surfcamp & School.

Combining this wild natural scenario with our experience and knowledge of the region, we can help surfers of all levels, from the ones who are catching the first wave to the experience and adventurous surfer looking for more hardcore breaks, we are prepared to fulfil their surf dream and find the best waves. Our surf instructors team is leaded by professional Pro surfer, João Mealha, Billabong team rider and top 16 Nacional Surf Ranking, and are qualified surf instructors by the Portuguese Surf Federation.

We take care of your accommodation and breakfast at the Surfcamp or in some independent lodging, we provide you with surf material and surf courses, with transport to the spots, with surf guidance, day trips, taking you to the hottest points and showing you all the fun during and after surfing you can't miss the caipirinhas at the beach bar late in the afternoon or listen to some good music at the our favourite surf bar in town.

At the Freeride Surfcamp & school you can find Malibus, long-boards, short-boards and wetsuits for the camp users, you just decide the one that fits with your surfing style. We even have some technical material in our facilities if you need buy some wax or a leash, and maybe make a deal with your old surfboard. At our school you can also find custom surfboards available for sale, made by a Portuguese shaper that sponsors some of our best surfers, so you can have a look at the latest surfboards trends.

The Surfcamp sponsored by Billabong is set at a sea view villa right in the top of the beach and is the perfect place to stay and hangout with other surfers. It has everything a surfer would need: a fantastic terrace with sea view to chill out at the cushions listening to good music, or skate in the half-pipe along with ocean view, a BBQ area, a great and familiar atmosphere, good mood, plenty of surf DVD's and video's, good and comfortable rooms and beds, a kitchen where your surfers hosts will prepare you a delicious breakfast, close to good fresh fish and seafood restaurants, surfshops, market, banks and a 3 minutes walk from the beach.
