Surfing in Dominican Republic is a tropical surf playground. The waves and surf breaks are suitable for new surfers, people looking to improve and even some spots for the hard core surfer looking at getting some decent wedges and hollow waves.
Our surf school package is aimed at the new, or improving surfer. With top coaching and quality equipment, a trip to Dominican Republic is a great way to spend much time in the warm, bath like water and get better. The surfing lessons take place at Playa Encuentro a short walk from the surf lodges. This sandy bay is ideal, with easy mellow breakers.
For the more advanced surfer, we recommend taking the accommodation only option, hiring a car and heading out each day with advice from our team in search of fast, good waves all around the island.
The breaks on the north shore include Encuentro, Yucca Beach, Yellow Reef Rock, El Canal and La Boca all sit on the north shore of the Dominican Republic. It is also possible to surf on the south shore of Dominican Republic, with many breaks located around San Pedro and Barahana. |

This is a great place to base yourself while in Dominican Republic. A very relaxed atmosphere, the lodges have been built with little impact on the wildlife around it. As such it is possible to lay in a hammock and listen not only to the sound of the surf, but also dozens of different tropical birds.
On site you will find two amazing restaurants cooking up all kinds of fresh, post-surf food. There is also a big spa which recently opened, where you can book in for a sports massage, steam bath and many other styles of pampering that you truly deserve!
There is also free wifi internet, a large library and yoga lessons, kite surf lessons all on offer to anyone with any energy left after a hard day surfing! |
