[Full Image]
Florida is a world like no other, where you can travel from outer space to the depths of the oceans in a day, bask in the sun or play in the surf, catch your own dinner or have it served to you in a world class restaurant, but most of all it is an environment that is beautiful in its natural form away from the world of theme parks - and all this in a place where the sun shines almost every day of the year and is the perfect place to learn to surf

   Itinerary & Highlights

Scott Calvin Vacations brings you the state of Florida in a different light, we bring you the state in its raw and natural way, the surfing way with the fun of knowing you will have lovely weather, glorious natural attractions that make a vacation to this state a must do experience. It's just a case of having the energy to fit it all in! And when you do need to recharge your batteries, what finer way could there be than relaxing beneath a palm tree, wafted by warm Atlantic breezes whilst beside you watch the ice melt slowly in a long cool drink?

Your central location on the Space coast means that you will truly enjoy. Imagine… you may be walking down to the surf beach and see an eagle soaring across a brilliant blue sky or the dramatic silver bullet of a space rocket streaking into orbit from nearby Cape Canaveral; out in the surf a pelican may swoop close by or a dolphin swim past you; and on the waves you may even spot the greatest surf of all time Kelly Slater (multi world champion) busting a few hot moves – this is his home break, after all!

Florida provides you with miles of soft sand fronted by consistent 3-4ft surfing waves and offshore conditions most mornings. Water temperatures never drop below 62F and air temperatures rarely dip below 72F, meaning that for most of the year it’s a board shorts only destination. Florida has some great Piers where world-class surfers rip the waves breaking off the sand banks near each pier - and there’s also the option of great restaurants, shops and excellent fishing when you want a break from the surf.

Or check out Ron Jon’s Surf Shop located at Cocoa Beach this is the world’s largest surf shop, open 24 hours a day, and next door to Cocoa Beach World Surf Centre! Surfing in Florida has so much to offer that even if the surf goes flat there’s no chance of getting bored – check out these incredible options:

Deep sea fishing in the Atlantic - Airboat flights over ancient cypress forests. - Great nightlife, from a peaceful evening watching the sun set on the Indian or Banana Rivers to excellent restaurants ranging from elegant to sand-in-your-shoes casual and great nightclubs (check out Jack Baker’s Lobster Shack in Cocoa Beach, a favourite with Pure Vacations Surfers – the Crab legs are delicious!) - A visit to the incredible Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral, an essential part of anybody's Florida experience. There are tours around the enormous launch pads and you can relive the Apollo Moon Launch in a literally spine-tingling simulation - Brevard Zoo, with over 400 animals from all over the world including jaguars, river otters and kangaroos – or see animals in their natural habitat at the Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, where you might even spot endangered species such as Florida 's native manatee and sea turtles - And finally, of course, there’s Disney World only a 45 minutes drive away.

You can be surfing in Florida with in a couple of hours of landing in the sunshine state, and with great waves and all the other amazing attractions that this state offers, Florida has to be on the top of your surfing vacation destination plans!

Your accommodation is moderate standard, close to the beach and we have selected this so that you can enjoy just taking a stroll to the beach to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, and unwind on your surfing vacation.

Surf lessons are available every day per week between 10am and 4pm and the first lesson will involve 30 minute on the beach discussing the conditions and rules required when surfing. You will be able to change the lesson timings during your stay as appropriate to conditions and your vacation plans. All our instructors are CPR, First Aid and Surf Instructor qualified to the highest Floridian standards.
